David and family invited the Sandpeople to his neck of the desert to partake of the Cherry Festival. Those still interested can still go this Friday and next and pick cherries. This festival puts me to shame since I will never rise above the calumny of the infamous (and pathetic) Great Potato Festival Fiasco.
Here for your viewing pleasure are pictures of the pickers:

I just had dinner, but now I'm hungry for cherries... thanks for sharing!
Just a note...the festival is still happening, but I hear they are out of cherries, so no more picking
Nice shots, Sandman! You clearly bring out the adorable in your subjects -- even the crusty old guys. I'd like to rip off that great photo of the cherries (with full credit, of course) for an "another list of reasons to live in Israel" post. You see, they remind me of a story...
Safranit - Thanks for the heads up.
Ruti - Be my guest...Can't wait to read the story.
Thanks, Sandman. Here it is: http://rutimizrachi.blogspot.com/2009/06/cherries-like-little-hearts-bursting.html
Lovely shots of what was obviously a great day. Nice to see pictures of the Bogner family too. I came to you blog via Ruti - great to meet you -I will be regular lurker from now on.
As I was telling Ruti, we almost went, and--dang--decided not to at the last minute. Would have seen all my blog friends covered in cherry juice....
Oh look, so many ether-familiar faces!
*waves cheerily*
